Alesa Lightbourne, Ph.D., founder of Lightworks, is a prize-winning writer. She sold her first article in 1979, and went on to publish hundreds of pieces in local, regional and national publications. She is the ghostwriter of eight books, editor of five doctoral dissertations, university professor and frequent speaker to professional groups and writer's conferences.
Her favorite project? Writing a proposal for the International Zones of Peace that was endorsed by the Pope for presentation to UNESCO.
Lesa likes to hike, kayak and ride a bicycle, and has completed two triathlons. She recently spent a year teaching English in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq, and is currently the Assistant Dean at the SP Jain Center of Management in Singapore.
Tara Hizon, our senior writer, has been passionate about words her entire life. An award-winning author, Tara has ghostwritten speeches, blogs and articles for Fortune 500 companies as well as local engineering firms and political campaigns. She has published work and edited several books and online education courses for clients across the US, Canada and Jamaica - both on her own and as a Lightworks team member.
Tara is also an accomplished singer and actress, performing in regional theatre and musical productions throughout the year. She serves on the Whidbey Playhouse's Board of Directors as their Publicist and Webmaster. Tara is an avid reader, and also enjoys kayaking and playing her ukulele.
Genevieve Cox, our hard-working project manager, has been overseeing operations at Lightworks for more than four years. She has a knack for details - keeping our clients informed, our projects organized, and making sure the rest of us 'creative types' stay on task. In addition to managing our projects, she is a tutor for the Office Technology department at Skagit Valley College.
Genevieve has lived and traveled all over the world and likes to surf, snowboard and mountain bike.
"Lightworks has delivered smart marketing solutions for us since 2002. My only hesitation in recommending them is that my competition will find out how good they are!"
